Keep the dates in the hot water for one minute , add the backing soda and mix it until you have smooth dates mix
Processing cake mixture
First mix the soft unsalted butter with brown sugar until it comes smooth
Add the eggs one by one and mix well then add the dates mix and mix it good, same the picture
Shift the plain flour with backing powder and mix ( fold ) with spoon until comes all together
Baking the mixture in the oven at 180 C for 15 minutes and use any serving size such as a medium rectangular ,round or square
For the sauce : On low heat 200 g brown sugar with 70 g unsalted butter Continue cooking until mixture becomes smooth with the addition of 1/2 tsp vanilla liquid
Add 375 ml heavy cream until the sauce becomes brown color and thick
Pour the sauce over the cake and decorate it with walnuts
For serving pudding prefered with vanilla ice cream
